Proposed BNSF Intermodal Facility
In the Spring of 2007, The Allen Group announced the execution of an agreement granting Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) the right to purchase land within The Hub as the next step in evaluating the possibility of developing a new intermodal facility.
The agreement was announced by Edward Romanov, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Allen Group, during the Dallas Logistics Hub Grand Opening Ceremony. Under the terms of agreement, BNSF has the option to puchase a minimum of 387 acres and up to a maximum of 530 acres of land within The Hub for construction of an intermodal facility. The site under option fronts 8,000 feet of BNSF track in the cities of Dallas and Lancaster and represents a portion of the 2.5 miles of BNSF track frontage located within The Hub.
